Senior Services
SCSEP is the acronym for the Senior Community Service Employment Program. SCSEP is a program operated by Experience Works that serves individuals with low incomes who are 55 and over and have limited employment prospects. Eligible individuals are placed in part-time community service assignments in not-for-profit organizations or governmental entities with a goal of transitioning to unsubsidized employment.
The Older Worker Program (SCSEP) seeks to:
- To foster and promote useful part-time opportunities in community service activities for eligible individuals;
- To foster individual economic self-sufficiency;
- To increase the number of older persons who may enjoy the benefits of a regular job after participating in the SCSEP
Melrose Senior Center is located on State Road 26 near the cross roads of Alachua, Bradford, Clay, and Putnam Counties. The center servese as a resource for older residents in the area, offering refferal resources, activities, and social groups. For more information about the senior center visit their Facebook Page.
